A Simple and Scanted Dessert: Orange, Walnut and Mint

For those who prefer to end a hearty supper lightly - try these orange slices with walnuts, made even fresher with a sprinkle of mint, for dessert.

  • 2 oranges
  • 4 walnuts, roughly chopped
  • some mint leaves
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • lemon juice

Sliced oranges on a plate topped with nuts and mint leaves

How to do it

  1. In a small bowl squeeze the lemon juice and add the sugar. Mix well with a fork and keep aside. With a sharp knife, cut away the peel of the oranges by slicing from the top to the bottom, following the contour of the orange. Cut between the membranes to release segments.
  2. Place the orange segments into a plate, spread the lemon and sugar sauce over them. Dust with minced mint leaves and crushed walnuts. Let rest for a while and serve.
