How to peel a pomegranate without making a big, bloody mess

We show you how to do it right. You'll be surprised how easy it is!

What you'll need:

  • a big bowl filled with water
  • a sharp knife
  • an empty plate
  • a sieve

Here's how to peel the pomegranate:

1. Carefully cut the pomegranate under water into quarters.

2. Remove the seeds from the pomegranate quarters with your hands under water until all seeds are removed and put the peel on the empty plate.

3. The pomegranate seeds sink while the white skin floats on the water surface. Now you can easily remove the rest of the shell by hand or with a small sieve.

Enjoy the pomegranate! The fruit isn't only great in sweet dishes like breakfast bowls, or desserts. It's a great addition to salads, spreads, on top of your sandwich, or in drinks. The sweet-sour taste makes many dishes more exciting and the consistency of the seeds contributes to a great taste experience.
